A $100,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man who admitted ownership of a handgun that had been converted into a machine gun.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Javion Love, 18, with possession of a machine gun and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance marijuana.

Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Charles Treadway, Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander said on Aug. 20 at 11:50 a.m., White Hall Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle displaying fictitious expired tags.

Alexander said Love told officers he had marijuana and they located a bag of a green leafy substance that weighed 1.9 grams in the front of his pants.

He was told to come back to court Sept. 25.
