A Pine Bluff man previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery is facing a felony allegation after a second arrest Thursday.
Jerome Knowles, 49, was taken into custody after Pine Bluff Police Officer Nathan Smith was flagged down by the victim in the early morning hours Thursday.
During a court hearing Friday, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West told the court the circumstances that led to the arrest.
West said Knowles also has prior felony convictions including for second-degree battery and aggravated assault on a family or household member.
Because of those prior convictions, Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $25,000 cash bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Knowles with second offense third-degree domestic battery, a felony.
He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Aug. 23.
