A Dumas man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 11 near Reydell in Jefferson County Thursday morning.

According to a preliminary report, James Hill, 64, was traveling south on Highway 11 negotiating a right-hand curve when the 2012 Kenworth tractor-trailer he was driving veered off the roadway and overturned on the driver’s side.

Hill was airlifted to a Little Rock hospital where he died of his injuries.

The accident was reported at 9:55 a.m. and the death was  the 277th so far this year on the state’s highways.
