McDonalds is halting a test on artificial intelligence in it’s drive thru’s after customers complained of incorrect orders and difficulty with the process. Over 100 drive thrus had been involved in the test after partnering with IBM. The test included automated voice ordering in the drive-thru to see if it would increase speed and simplify operations. Several other fast food chains have been testing AI as well in an effort to eliminate the need for human workers. McDonalds has not ruled out further testing with AI-powered voice ordering
