A $25,000 bond was set Friday for a man accused of trying to choke his mother while the two were in a vehicle Friday afternoon.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Alexander Myers, 24, with aggravated assault on a family or household member.
Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said sheriff’s deputies were sent to Highway 79 and Hartley Dump Road in response to a reported assault.
The victim told deputies she tried to drive away when Myers got out of the vehicle.
Myers was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court July 17.
