The Arkansas State Red Wolves said they wanted a proven winner to lead their baseball program and they hope they found just that. Reports out of Jonesboro are that ASU will hire Nicholls coach Mike Silva. He has led the Colonels to two straight postseason appearances and had his team finish with 38 wins last season. Silva will replace Tommy Raffo, who was fired after 16 seasons at the helm. Silva formerly coached at Louisiana Tech and spent two seasons as the pitching coach at UALR. He has professional experience as well as a scout for the San Diego Padres.
