Since she took office a year-and-a-half-ago, First Ward Pine Bluff City Council Member LaTisha Brunson has been the driving force behind an effort to get a grocery store on the east side of the city.

The only grocery store that was there, Super One Foods which was located in the Broadmoor Shopping Center closed a few months before Brunson took office and residents on the east side now have a choice between Walmart, other Super One Food stores on the west side, or Cash Saver on West Sixth Avenue, all several miles away from residents.

On Tuesday, Brunson was a guest on Talk Back Live and host Floyd Donald asked her where her efforts are right now.

Brunson went on to say that it was important to have the data because it will be essential to help get a grocery store back on the east side of Pine Bluff.
