After struggling in two consecutive starts, former Watson Chapel star Tink Hence pitched six dominating innings on Saturday to lead the Springfield Cardinals to a 3-2 win over the red hot Midland RockHounds. Hence gave up four hits and two earned runs while striking out nine and only walked two. He was credited with a no-decision after leaving the game that was tied 2-2. The Cardinals pushed across a run in the bottom of the 9th to get the win. The Cardinals lead the North division of the Texas league by one game over the Arkansas Travelers. Hence is schedule to take the mound again this Friday when Springfield takes on Tulsa.
