A Texas woman was killed and two people injured in a two-vehicle accident in Drew County Monday.
According to a preliminary report, Gwendolyn English, 69, of Lancaster, Texas was a passenger in a 2017 BMW driven by Larry Phinisee, 67, also of Lancaster, Texas that was southbound on Arkansas Highway 293 when the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Highways 138 and 293.
The BMW was hit on the passenger side by a 2020 Ford driven by Jason Milner, 53, of Camden that had been eastbound on Highway 138.
English was killed and Phinisee and Milner were injured and taken to hospitals at Little Rock and Monticello.
The accident was reported at 2:59 p.m. and the death was the 31st so far this year on the state’s highways.
