Two people were killed and a third injured in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 79 South of Camden Thursday.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, a 2016 Tesla driven by Tourke
Hooker, 48, of Camden was southbound on U.S. 79 when he lost control of the car in a curve to the left and the vehicle began to rotate counter-clockwise and crossed the center line and into the northbound lane.
The rear of the vehicle hit the front of a 2017 Nissan Maxima that was southbound and driven by Ashey French, 28, of Magnolia.
French and a minor female passenger that had been in the Tesla were killed and Hooker was injured and taken to the Southeast Arkansas Regional Hospital for treatment.
According to the report, it was raining, and the roadway was wet when the accident was reported at 7:34 a.m.
