Crews from Entergy worked for almost 24 straight hours to restore power to Jefferson Regional Hospital and according to Wendy Talbot, their work paid off.

Appearing on the Oldies 1013 morning show Thursday, Talbot said that at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, the hospital was back up and running and the systems were coming back on line.

“When I walked in this morning it felt good,” Talbot said.

A fire outside the hospital Tuesday at about 5 p.m. knocked out the power, forcing Jefferson Regional to cancel elective surgeries and tests that had been scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, and transferring patients to other hospitals in the area.

Morning show host Greg Horne asked Talbot if the patients who were transferred to other hospitals would be coming back to Jefferson or if they would be staying where they are now.

Talbot also talked about the fire itself.
