$50,000 bond set for man accused of being a felon in possesion of firearm

A Pine Bluff man previously convicted of multiple felonies was arrested Monday after a handgun was found in the vehicle he was a passenger in.

David Hanley, 39, was taken into custody after sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic on a red Ford.

During a court hearing Wednesday, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson read from an affidavit by Sheriff’s Investigator Sandra Harper.

Carson said Hanley has prior convictions for commercial burglary, residential burglary, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $50,000 bond for Hanley after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Hanley was told to come back to court July 20.
