The Watson Chapel School Board held a moment of silence to begin their meeting Monday to remember a student who was shot to death at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., park over the weekend.
Board Member Alan Frazier was a guest on Tuesday’s Oldies 1013 morning show and thanked local pastors who counseled students who had lost their friends and classmates.
Frazier then brought up other business, saying this.
He then explained what the legislature did and why.
Frazier said with construction going on for the new high school, some students may not be going to the school they were initially scheduled to attend.
Graduation is Tuesday at the Pine Bluff Convention Center and Frazier said approximately 160 students will receive their diplomas. Overall, the class has been awarded up to $1.8 million in scholarships.
