The Arkansas State Police are currently investigating allegations that money is missing from the Urban Renewal Agency, according to Go Forward Pine Bluff CEO Ryan Watley and Chandra Griffin, director of the Urban Renewal Agency.

Appearing on the Oldies 1013 morning show Thursday, Watley was asked what people needed to know about the investigation.

Early voting begins Tuesday on legislation that would extend the current five-eighth cent sales tax that is designated for Go Forward Pine Bluff for another seven years. That tax is currently set to come off the books next year.

Voters will also be asked to approve an additional three-eighth cent tax devoted to public safety that will be permanent.

Jennifer Lipp, who was sitting in for vacationing morning show host Greg Horne told Watley she thought the most important thing about this issue right now is transparency and Griffin responded this way.

Watley went on to say that he would like the public and the media to focus on the good things Go Forward and the Urban Renewal Agency have done, things that without their involvement would not have happened.
