A $50,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of breaking into a neighbor’s house, taking furniture, and siphoning water from the residence.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Anthony Tolbert, 59, with residential burglary and theft of services.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Ryan Edwards, Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander said on Jan. 13, police were sent to a house in the 1600 block of East 26th to meet the victim, James Hinshaw.

A refrigerator, dining room chairs and other items were reportedly taken from the house.

When Tolbert was interviewed, he denied taking the furniture and siphoning water.

Court records showed that Tolbert has more than four prior felony convictions and pending drug charges from 2024.

He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court May 7.
