A $25,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man currently on parole who is accused of hitting and threatening his girlfriend.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Tony McNealy, 55, with aggravated assault on a family or household member and third-degree domestic battery.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said on Saturday at about 1:40 p.m., police were sent to a residence on West 33rd Avenue in response to a reported domestic disturbance involving a boyfriend and girlfriend.

She then read from an affidavit from Detective Dante Nicholson to describe what the police found when they arrived.

Nicholson reported that McNealy was taken into custody at about 2:50 p.m.

Akel said McNealy is on parole under supervision until September 2027. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court May 19.
