A $25,000 cash only bond was set Monday for a Jefferson County woman accused of breaking into a trailer and trying to take several items.
The woman, Candice King, 42, also allegedly had methamphetamine in her possession at the time, Deputy Prosecutor Micha King said during a court hearing Monday.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with residential burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
According to a probable cause affidavit from Sheriff’s Lt. Kaylon McDaniel, deputies were sent to the 2700 block of Hardin Reed Road Friday in response to a reported burglary. The alleged victim reported that she had arrived to check on the property and found the doors to the trailer and to a shed open.
She said the doors were always closed and when she went inside, noticed that drawers had been pulled out.
When King was interviewed, she denied taking anything and told deputies the items she had were on the ground.
A records check showed that King has pending drug and weapons charges from last year and prosecutors will be filing a petition to revoke her bond.
