A fugitive wanted for the December 14, 2024 murder of 20-year-old Kevin Morgan has been arrested.
According to a press release by the Desha County Sheriff’s Office 19-year-old Johntavious Owens of McGehee was arrested by U.S. Marshalls in Oklahoma City. He will be extradited back for a formal arraignment.
Morgan, who Owens is accused of killing, was found dead in the driver’s seat of a white Chevy Avalanche that was parked beside a residence in the 800 block of North Street with a gunshot wound in the back of his head, according to a press release from the Arkansas State Police in December.
Owens was later identified as the suspect before his arrest in Oklahoma.
